10-4 gathers location data, asset updates, and order information from carriers and vendors to deliver full transparency into the lifecycle of each shipment. When a shipment is tendered to a carrier in 10-4, a shipment ID and a vehicle ID are assigned to the shipment. 10-4 requests location data for that vehicle ID from Motive only throughout the duration of that shipment. As soon as the shipment is delivered, 10-4 will no longer receive location data from that particular vehicle ID.
